Twisted Log 21" x 21" I really like this miniature twisted log -- it took every last scrap I had of this fabric! Click for a larger view. |
Mini Bear 11" x 11" I made hangings like these to sell at a Christmas Bazaar in 1995. The fish fabric borders has gold metallic and is not adequately captured in this photo. Click for a larger view. |

Green Mini Log 14" x 16" Just some miniature log cabin blocks in a small hanging. Someday I plan to narrow the border but there doesn't seem to be any rush. Click for a larger view. |

Tulip Star 54" x 54" This quilt received an honorable mention in the 2002 New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild Show. All the stars are made from fabrics I hand dyed. This was quilted on the longarm with very dense paisley freehand quilting and the second photo is a detail. Click for a larger view.

Spider Web Hanging 33" x 33" Debbie Chance gave a workshop at her guild with a different method of constructing spider web blocks. Mine are set a bit different but the hanging turned out well. A small flame motif was designed for each odd shaped area and small meandering outlines them. Click for larger views. * My longarm quilting |

Persian Stars 48" x 48" This hanging started as blocks made for an exchange and it wasn't until the white reverse applique came along (a few years later) that it could be finished. Click for a larger view. |
Stellar Quilt 27" x 27" This was made for my husband's birthday. He loved the fabric but it left me cold so I was really pleased how well it turned out. Click for a larger view. |
Cat Heaven 28" x 28" The day my son's cat was run over, I went to my sewing room for solace. This quilt is the same pattern as Stellar Quilt above. The background is a Hoffman print and all others are my own hand dyed fabrics. Click for a larger view. |
Stained Glass Butterfly 29" x 24" Though I'm pleased with the look, I didn't like the stiffness from using a fusible web and will probably try other methods in the future. Click for a larger view. |
Christmas Pineapple Hanging 28" x 28" I remade this quilt after giving the original for Xmas years ago. I really love the Hoffman metallic print used. Click for a larger view. |
Princess & The Pea 30" x 54" A hanging made for my youngest daughter. It was my first attempt at applique. Click for a larger view. |
Aztec Trip 33" x 33" This quilt was made from scraps of "Aztec Warrior" and hangs above the bed. Click for a larger view. |
Lone Star Hospitality 54" x 54" This is one of my first quilts and was the first I hand quilted. It was made about six years ago and has faded terribly -- a good lesson on buying only quality fabrics. Click for a larger view. |
Kaleidoscope 35" x 35" Just a little project made up quickly to try a different technique. Click for a larger view. |
Christmas Gift Hangings 28" x 28" I made four of these scrap-a-holic wall hangings for gifts -- two border colorways. Sorry for the crooked photo. Click for a larger view. |
Family Christmas Quilt 33" x 33" This hanging was made several years ago with a quilting buddy from a pattern in one of the popular quilt magazines. It was my first experience seeing how different the same quilt pattern could be made by two different quilters. The cat was made to resemble Bunny, and the candy cane label and stocking titles are probably the last things you'll ever see me cross stitch -- not when I can quilt! Click for larger views |

Blake's Cats Baby Quilt 50" x 60" A new nephew prompted this bright quilt. It has a fabulously bright orange flannel back for soft comfort -- or to signal for roadside assistance! Click for larger view (and you might get lucky enough to see the balding head of my sweetie!) * My longarm quilting |

Old Fashioned Baby Quilt 34" x 39.5" I was able to take some star blocks I made several years ago in Alaska and piece them with some ninepatches that hadn't worked for another project into this baby quilt. It was quilted in pink thread with the Flutterby pattern, and the quilting is very subtle. The Hobbs 80/20 gave it a nice, old-fashioned texture. The closeup shows the bunny made using the wonderful Carol's Zoo pattern for the new baby's big sister. Click for larger views. * My longarm quilting |

Kaleidoscope Baby Quilt 40" x 50" This baby quilt was made for my boss's first grandchild. Click for a larger view. |
Four Patch in a Four Patch 60" x 60" This was a fun quickie project where I made every possible mistake I could... Preplanning is worth a LOT. Click for a larger view. |
Chrismas Nine Patch 60" x 60" I used lots of scraps, all metallic prints, many with a Christmas theme. It was quilted with gold thread (a learning experience at the time!) on a 100% cotton batting so it has kind of an old-fashioned/contemporary battle going on. Click for a larger view. |
Scrapaholic Jewels 98" x 98" This quilt was pieced over an extended period of time starting in 1993 with fabric swatches I received while in Alaska. Needless to say, the quality of piecing varied a great deal from start to finish and enthusiasm had long since waned by the time the top was complete. Once I got my longarm, this seemed like a wonderful practice piece and it was finally quilted in 2001. The quilting is very close stippling in the light areas and freehand leaves in blue over the dark areas. The quilting used over 5,000 yards of thread! The density of the quilting and using Hobbs 80/20 shrank the quilt 7.25" each way by the time it was completed and washed. Click for larger views -- the bottom shot shows the stitching from the back. * My longarm quilting |

Aztec Warrior 105" x 105" This is a view of the quilt made for our master bedroom. It is a rail fence with four bright colors and an unusual setting designed to resemble a man and designed on EQ by my husband. Click for a larger view. |
Log Star 102" x 102" When I first started quilting I took a class to make a large star quilt over a year's time. Of course, I moved away and lost interest after completing a couple blocks and a wonderfully complicated feathered star for the center so decided to use the fabrics to create this log cabin to frame the center. The lovely center did not work with the oversized blocks so a simpler star was substituted to create this quilt. (I haven't finished the hanging I plan for the feathered star yet!) Click for larger views. * My longarm quilting |

Scrap Hearts 66" x 105" Two of these heart quilts were made for each of my daughters -- one double and one single. My oldest helped choose fabrics and ironed blocks for me. Click for a larger view. |
Rusty's Railroad 105" x 105" This was the first king size quilt I made and was a gift for my husband, Rusty. However, I didn't quilt in the large white squares and the batting has shifted horribly over the years. Every quilt is a lesson ;-) Click for a larger view. |
Hidden Stars 90" x 105" This was the first quilt I attempted -- and it was meant to be an Amish style but I didn't use solids. My son, who helped lay it out, loves it. Click for a larger view. |

Sherbert Vest This vest received a second place ribbon in the 2002 New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild Show. It is constructed from a piece of fabric freehand quilted in a spiral design with lovely variegated thread on the longarm. The chenille strips were draped around the body and accent the doll and button created from Fimo. * My longarm quilting |

Celtic Vest This vest was made for the 2000 Austin Area Quilt Guild Show. It was required to have a five pointed star -- and I had one in the center of the celtic design on the back. Actually pretty ugly on ;-) Click for larger views. |

Spider Vest This vest was made for a friend whose passion is spiders. I found a fabric with silly little green spiders on the periwinkle and worked from that. And, of course, put a spider web block on the back. Click for larger views. |
Armond's Vest This vest was made for a traveling musician -- a character who wears bright colors for his performances. This may be the only wearable I get to make using my favorite bright pallette. Click for a larger view. |

Pink Stained Glass Batwing Jacket I used Tencel I hand dyed and love the drape. I made it reversible but wish I had used a standard lining instead. The garment took third place in the New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild 2000 Show. Click for a larger view. |
Teal/Purple/Navy Vest I loved the print used for the left side and back and pieced my hand dyeds and an old Nancy Crowe (geese) for the right side. Click for a larger view. |
Child's Easter Vest This vest was made from an assortment of coordinated bunny fabrics and my hand dyed fabrics. It looked really cute on my daughter Caleta when she was small. It was donated to an auction in 2001 of the New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild. Click for larger views. |

Reversible Strip Vest One year trying to make a vest for my daughter I kept using colors I liked, rather than ones she would wear. After two tries, I figured out to use nasty autumn colors and it was perfect for her. Decided to use the fronts made in a single vest (maybe saved time...). Click for larger views. |
